From Genova to Verona...

We checked out of our hostel at 10am and organized our van. Bought some basic food necessities (Nutella, Bread, Eggs, Mayo) and some basic car necessities (Sponge, Toilet paper, garbage bags). We started our drive to Verona at noon and loved every second of it! There are two options when driving in Europe. 1. Toll roads which are basically all highways…or…2. Non Toll roads which are the secondary roads through the towns and the mountains and fields. We have decidedly chosen to take the non toll roads. The drive to Verona would have been 3 hours on the highway but we took the 6 hour drive through the most gorgeous scenery I have ever experienced! 3 hours of mountain driving passed by in a second! Luckily Chris was driving because I don't know how I would have felt driving along some of those cliffs but he took his time so we were safe as can be! I did feel nauseous half way through and we stopped at a little stream so I  could stop my head from twisting and turning. I drove the second half of the way through the little towns in the flatter lands nearer to Verona! Driving on the Right side feels weird!

We arrived in Verona at 6pm and got a cozy little campsite right in the city. Its on a hill looking over the city and the view is once again breathtaking. We went to the lookout just in time for sunset and just relaxed. We are both still not 100%. Chris is coughing a lot and I’m still sneezing but we are on the up and up and can’t wait till we feel better to fully enjoy this experience again! Tomorrow we are going to make our way into town to visit Juliet’s house and then we are off to Innsbruck, Austria. We are moving through the towns a little quick but we have a schedule to keep at Oktoberfest. After that I think we will take our time a little more!

Update: Verona is a gorgeous city! We walked into town before leaving for Austria! We even got to stop by Juliets house and write our name on the wall! We both rubbed Juliets boob of course...strictly for good luck purposes! We once again only got to spend a few hours in the city but it was a great breath of fresh air!

Wish you could all see through my eyes right now!

Next stop Austria!
