KT:  Another hot day, record temp of 41.5 degrees, so spent most of the day relaxing in preparation for the evening celebrations.  A highlight for me was our sushi lunch, and Pimms with our bbq dinner.

Some of Dave and Kath's friends invited us to celebrate NYE with them in Eureka Tower (Australia's tallest building) with views of the city from the nice air conditioned apartment.  We chatted, drank and ate till about 11.30pm and then made our way to the bridge on the Southbank to enable us to view the fireworks.  Outside there was a very warm breeze prob in high 30s and the news recorded that it didn't drop below 34 all night.
The fireworks were AMAZING and we had a great view.  We walked along the street soaking up the atmosphere singing Auld Lang Syne, sort of. Then back to the apartment for PARTY time!  Lots of good fun, dancing and messing around.  The photos explain all.  Not home until about 5am.  Still extremely hot and we end up falling asleep in the air con lounge.  Steve forgetting to take out his contacts!

SB:  Fantastic night (many thanks to Kevin for inviting us to his apartment) but hideous hangover.  Topped 42.1 degrees on NY Day - not good when you're already struggling!!  Thus we rarely ventured more than 5 yards away from the air con unit.

We had a great time in Melbourne, and can't believe how much we crammed in there.  The next day we would pick up our hire car and drive the Great Ocean Road, then on to the Grampians and Adelaide.

PS...  Many thanks once again to Dave and Kath for all the quality food, drink, games, laughter, travel advice, the washing machine, the bed, the intro to Cold Rock, the sushi, the air con, Kath's quality dance moves, etc, etc, etc

Lapland
Just been catching up on the Bundy adventures since I last had a look prior to Christmas. Seems like you are having a lapuous time, although I don't suppose that was ever really in doubt. Highlights so far have defso got to be Katie being bullied by a kangaroo whilst on the toilet and Steve losing at mini-golf thanks to one ridiculously bad hole. Now you know how I felt in France, Downsey!
Lapping up the pictures, lots of familiar sights. Anyway, keep up the blog. Provides much needed entertainment when you are sitting in MK watching it p*ss down outside. Ocean Road is lap so you should have plenty to tell on your next entry..
Wings!
