After a bit of running backwards and forwards we got into the town of Rovaniemi mid afternoon. We checked in and headed to the Tourist Information Center <Wow, this sounds just like George/Dad!> to find out about Santa's village and Husky Sledging. We went to the supermarket and got our supplies for the stay. We could also actually buy more of what we wanted this time, as the food was not ridiculously priced! We cooked dinner and relaxed whilst watching a movie in our private room again. We are getting spoilt!
The Saturday we spent at Santa's Village where we saw Santa, for real!! We had a photo taken, which we did not buy, it being 30 pound for five small photos! We spent the rest of the day there visiting the rest of the village and official post office. Karen linked up to the Arctic Circle Live Web cam and saw us there jumping about, then we went and had a photo on the official Arctic Circle marker. In the evening, we bought a bottle of wine for a remarkable 6 pounds and got ready to have a lovely meal out! We had a traditional Lappish started with a selection of cold meats, pates, cheese and delicacies. For the main we had a pot of shredded Reindeer meat and the smoothest mashed potato with local red berrys of some sort. It was AMAZING! Even if it did keep me, Kt, up all night with indigestion!
Our final day in Rovaniemi we had a slight mishap with the clocks going back, meaning that we were rather early for our trip to the husky sledging! The sledging was definitely a great experience, although an expensive one. The dogs were very cute and excitable!
Now here we are in the hotel foyer, writing this whilst waiting for our night train to Helsinki!
Love to all and will update soon xx

Ps. Thank you for your messages, it is lovely to hear from you all :>
