Where I stayed
Here was our first stop. We were amazed at how relaxed the city and folk were. But I guess that was no surprise - the stench was over powering, even as you entered the train station. After Ash making me ask a group of deaf people whether we were at the correct train station and Ash commenting on what a bunch of "useless bastards" they were – obviously not realising –, we made it to Amsterdam just gone 10pm. So just over 14 hours of traveling. Even so, we managed to stay out till gone 1am. Oh, and was it mentioned that we were hit on by two Afghani women looking for some business? Not sure what they were expecting! (I think they were a bit lost from The Red Light District.) On the way home that night we stumbled across a giant clog. Great minds thinking alike, we put two-and-two together and created a toboggan (best picture ever!). The second day we spent doing the usual touristy things and lapped up some of the sights. This included a stroll through The Red Light District during 'working hours' in the evening, which was a sight to see. We departed from the hostel the next day (06-10) for Copenhagen at 5.30am.
