Its now our 2nd day in New York. I woke up today feeling alot better about things. I will admit last night i was grumpy and very stressed. All settle down now though.

Today, Me and Nicky went down to see the statue of Liberty. We spend hours trying to remember what we had originally planned to do, while i spoke to my mum on skpye and tried to figure out how to make a call. I was up at 7 which will shock my parents esp as to them it would have been 12 noon. We eventually remembered our plan to see the New freedom tower that was to replace the World trade centre when our stomach started rumbling, We got off the metro down town in search of food when we came across the worksite that will soon be a memorial for 9/11. You will be shocked to know that we forgot about hunger at this point and decided to check out a museum dedicated to the disaster. I was heart wrenching.

After checking out the museum, we were intrigued to see how the development was coming along so we walked across to the winter garden for a better view. There we met an american man who enlighted us to the fact he had watched the original Twin towers being build and gave us abit of back ground info on the history of the site. Apartently where we were standing used to be the river, with piers. It is now a shopping centre. He had also watched the original twin towers being build which seems crazy to me, as i have never seen them. The freedom tower has grown abit since our last visit but i was suprised at how little it has come on in 2 years. Its supposed to open next year, think they better speed up.

After we said our goodbyes we set our minds to our orignal task. Finding food! and find food we did the best sandwich i've ever had and soya milk in my coffee. We sat watching the world go by enjoying being in america before we got a burst of energy and decided to walk by down past the statue by the rivers. I was a lovely walk and a gorgeous day. Once past the staue we came across the Statten Island ferry and decided on the stop to take alittle trip, as its FREE!

The ferry ride is self was fun, we got to see the statue up close and reminise about past visits. but when we arrived at statten Island we didn't have a clue what was there and just walked trying to keep the sea as close as possible on our left. Which was fun for all of an hour when we started to realise that the fantasy of this beautiful south beach, was either not there or not within out reach. At this we decided to cut our loses and sucessfully atempted to bus it back.

The ferry back was great the sunset over Lady Liberty was stunning and made the whole trip worth while. Docked back safe in Manhatten it was time for Nicky to get excited. For the last 2 years she has dreamed to returning to BBQs to experience the corn bread again. I decided also that it was time for me to check out this cake with steak situation. Boy, did we check it out in style Steak, chicken, ribs, rice, corn bread, pitta bread and onion rings all topped of with a fish bowl of mango magarita. My only comment upon leaving BBQs is FULL and DRUNK. off to wicked!

Don't see a broadway show after eating and drink to much, I was stuggling to stay awake all the way through the show and couldn't wait to be tucked up in bed so when it finished and Nicky suggested a taxi i jumped at the opportunity. When back at the hotel it was a head hit pillow out situation. Nite!
