The Goa Express stops at the 10th century city of Miraj in Maharashtra. Miraj is not as translucent of inviting as it's name suggests, however as we were in town just long enough to change trains it didn't matter.
In a four berth sleeper with another Indian couple. As is the case with every station we've stopped at so far, boys run up and down the platform hawking food and drinks. Ian just bought a bottle of water from one for 16R. The Indian guy told him that it actually cost 6R. Tried to relocate to the empty compartment next door but the conductor threw me out.
