We´re having a great time so far. We´re having some trouble finding an internet cafe that will allow us to upload pictures, but we´ve got plenty when the time comes.  We haven´t met any other Norteamericanos yet and everyone thinks we look European - not bad for us.  Travelers are required to sign into hostels upon check in and we´ve yet to see any other folks from the USA on the roster...strange to be off the beaten path.

We found our way down the Atlantic coast to Villa Gisell, a popular coastal vacation spot for Argentinians.  After we found our hostel, we spent the rest of the afternoon strolling down the beach until the rain hit.  We grabbed some cheese and crackers and headed back to our room... one we actually enjoy spending time in.  Our room in Buenos Aires was a little funky... hot and humid and right next to the shared bathroom.  Since we didn´t want to spend any time in there, it was left locked up all day, windows and all and it never really improved. Here, we´ve got a great big window that opens to the garden on the top floor with tons of ventilation. We love it.

Of course things are more expensive than we expected... especially bus rides.  I think our plan is to deal with it by taking overnight buses long distances and not have to pay for rooms those nights... not such a bad idea since buses are like riding first class on a plane, with huge seats that fold back completely into beds.  Kyle lucked out by getting the front seat on the top level- what a view!

Our last day in Buenos Aires (until May) was spent strolling through the craft market in San Telmo, walking to the Ethnographic Museum, the Muesum of Fine Arts and finally on to a Tenedor Librador - an all you can eat deal in an upscale neighborhood.  And we ate. A lot.  We´re getting used to the way people organize their day.  Last night when we went to dinner we had to walk around until 9 beforehand so that we wouldn´t be the first people in the restaurant.  The craft fair in San Telmo was a trip, covering about 10 city blocks with street performers, fantastic jewelery, artists and antiques of all sorts.  Kyle picked up a handsome leather "man-bag" and Patience bought some striking oxidized copper earings.  Our fashion points went up tremendously considering the rest of our garb is quick-drying technical clothing...

A random observation - if you don´t own a pair of coverse yet, you are way behind the fashion curve.  No joke, everyone in B.A. wears some type of Converse All-Stars.  We wandered into one store and found other brand name shoes, like Merrill, copying the all star style!

Nothing beats drinking coca cola out of a glass bottle.

Converse
Yeah, my mom was just here at my house and she had a brand new pair of All-Stars on. Guess I should get with the program...even my three year old has two pair. I'm so glad y'all are having a good time.

Kyle goes Euro!
What... a man bag? Very hip, Kyle. Glad to hear the coast voyage went well. Although BA is magic its good to get away from the noise and the BUSES that exude all kinds of toxic funk. Sunday in San Telmo is what I loved most about BA. Can't wait to see your photos. Love you both.
