When the Clarks dropped me off at the bus station this morning, my original plan was to go straight to the Mount. However, there weren't really any buses running that direction until Tuesday and I didn't want to stay in Hamilton. So I looked at my handy-dandy bus schedule and decided Rotorua really wasnt too far out of the way and I had missed it on my way to Hamilton. I checked in to base Backpackers, which was nice and clean... a quick run to the grocery store provided a splurge dinner - a big delicious salad. I am so sick of meat! While I was preparing my dinner I met these great German guys, Felix and Boris... so funny! After dinner we headed over the Polynesian Spa for some soaking and relaxing. It was nice, but the smell of sulfur which seems to permeate everything in this city made me feel nauseous after a while. Still, I was soo relaxed I really couldn't complain. Plus each pool was progressively hotter, ranging from 37 to 42 degrees... I felt like I was being scalded and I loved it. One guy even fainted getting out because he sat in it for too long. You would have loved it, Mom!
