We drove up to Alexander Head, and since all the campsites were full, we rented a villa. It was a great break from the camper. We enjoyed having lots of space, separate rooms, soft beds, and a nice kitchen where we cooked up some good meals including fajitas. Tonight Maddy ate her chocolate b-day cake with plenty of gusto... she loved it! It was her first experience with sugar. Let's hope she will eat vegetables now, she's been such a great eater of healthy foods, so hopefully the cake won't spoil her taste buds! The next morning, we got up and went to the beach where Mike and Cody and Tyler went surfing with some rented boards. They had lots of fun, but eventually got out due to "chaffing". Apparently rash-guards or wetsuits are recommended if you're going to spend much time on a surfboard. Next we went up to Noosa, which was a swanky town full of resorts. This is where the wealthy locals have fancy vacation homes to get away from their fancy city homes. In Noosa we booked a trip out to the Great Barrier Reef, but our boat leaves from way up North, so tonight we are going to make a five hour drive up the coast to town called 1770, by another town called Agnus Water. There we will catch a boat called Spirit of 1770. Its kind of a bummer that we won't get to see the scenery on the way up (since it will be dark), but we can check it out on the way back to Brisbane.
