Happy New Year followers! Hoping you had a merry Christmas and that 2012 brings you much happiness.

Before we both left England, Andrea, Dan and myself hit up the Museum of London (http://www.museumoflondon.org.uk/) in St. Paul's. Very cool and free so I suggest you check it out!

I flew home to Canada on Dec. 21 and after SEVERAL travel setbacks and the world's most annoying seat-mate, I made it in once piece. My plane was delayed in London which triggered a domino effect of missed connections. I landed and RAN (literally ran) through Pearson to catch my shuttle. I was sent to the wrong place, ran back to the right one and got to Union Station 20 minutes after my train left. In the interest of not waiting there for 5 hours until the next train, I grabbed the GO to Whitby. But tragedy struck again when in Pickering my train was stopped to med-evac a passenger. I had to switch trains to continue my journey. This was all done while dragging a 35 kilo suitcase around. There were tears, many tears, but I lived through a stereotypical travel nightmare. This episode also featured my Somalian-Canadian seatmate who made several rude comments to other passengers (including myself). I was about to ask if she had Tourette's or some other kind of mental illness before I went all Belleville on her but we landed in time.

On that note, congrats fellow Bellevillians on being the 6th most dangerous city in the country! All 38,000 of you are psychopaths (minus my Garvin clan and the people who own the Arby's). I miss Arby's.

Christina and I drove up to Ottawa on the 22nd and stayed overnight. Got to see some of my work colleagues and have dinner with friends. Both Chris and I were severely jet-lagged so we watched a lot of TLC's 'Police Women of Broward County'. The only hiccup was the 8am fire alarm.

Christmas day was lovely and I spent it with my family!

After dinner with Chuck on the 29th, I flew back to London and took a personal day the 30th. Too many timezones in such a short period of time.

Rachel and I celebrated NYE with her friends at the Camden Head in Camden (obvy). Very cool old pub that had a 1950s themed night. Highligh was playing "The Final Countdown" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jK-NcRmVcw ) during the countdown. If you haven't yet seen the London fireworks, you need to:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J--WBdwnyvI&feature=share  . There was nothing more amazing then seeing the fireworks come out of Westminster as Big Ben tolled midnight. Everyone at the bar was just watching in awe.

Last night I went out with Rachel, Bree, Stef and Amanda for a girl's night beginning at Abacus in East London and then over to Mahiki in Mayfair. Was great fun! Also yesterday, Rachel and I booked our trip to Stockholm for February and the mission got our invites to the Queen's Garden Party at Buckingham Palace. So basically, I'm quite posh now.

I think that's all that has happened as of late. Aiming to go to the Imperial War Museum tomorrow.
