Headed to Jaislmer from Pushkar. Got a bad stomach pretty much straight after setting off on the bus. Endedup stopping a night in Johdpur as I was in agony!

The fort was cool - seemed to come right up out of the sand. Booked myself onto a Camel Safari - 2 days, 1 night. Had to do it but didn't seem the wisest decision with my stomach being as it was!

The first day riding the camel was pretty cool. There was a group of 6 of us. The 2 guides, Ryan, Berndt and a chinese girl. We trekked through various villages and dunes becoming expert camel handlers! I had deemed it wise to try my first immodium of my trip and it was holding me up very well. Especially as we were obviously having a few curries cooked on a fire we were to light in the desert! Still the food was excellent.

We even bought some beer at one of the villages! Think it was a popular stop!

We made it to the sand dunes where we settled down for the night! All of a sudden a bloke came out of nowhere with a bag full of beer, crisps, chocolate, cigaretes - in the middle of the Thar desert!

Slept quite well after our guide had screened the close proximity of our camp for the large beetles and woke up just after sunrise. Was surprisingly cold in the desert - a new phrase from our guide when asked how cold it got - "Medium cold".

Anyway the second day of camel riding didn't go as well as the first - we were in absolute agony!!! It is not a natural position to be sat in - I hurt everwhere, just more in some places than others! Still an awesome time - no pain no gain!
