Where I stayed
I resolved myself to getting a taxi to the out of town terminal, I met the traveler who gave me the out of date advice, he redeemed himself by telling me to save a few quid and skip hedman alas buses for the cheaper ones further inside the terminal, I was quickly rushed into buying a ticket as it was due to leave so jumped on and I was off to la ceiba within about 60 seconds of entering the terminal
The bus terminated just of of la ceiba town and is where I met Mary from Quebec, who was the only other gringo on the bus, her Spanish is shit hot and because she is living on Utila right sorted everything out for me like the chicken bus to centro, buying a sea sickness pill, taxi to the ferry and even the dive shop that I'm staying at right now.
The ferry over cost 395 limperas and wasn't smooth like the caye caullker boats over, I was lucky I'd bought a sea sickness pill, it was extra drowsy and sent me to sleep the whole 1h20min ride.. I woke as the engines turned off and followed Mary to the Cross Creek dive shop where I was welcomed, shown around and signed up to an advanced diver course.
I went out that evening in search of some nightlife, I found a cool little reggae place but was more of a resturant than a bar so settled for a few beers at a funky bar next door, whilst there I bumped into Israeli amit who I'd gone fishing with back on caye caulker in Belize.. He confirmed to me what I was thinking by telling me he missed and like caye caulker much better. Everyone ive spoken too doesn't take any antimalarial tablets here so I'm taking a chance too, so for now I'll have a few days diving and when I update again I should be an certificated advanced scuba diver.
