"the plane land, yes the plane land, saddle up myself to take interrigation... the plane land, yes the plane land.. make up me mind fi face the immigration " ..Richie Spice

This latest song sums up my feelings whilst onboard my American airlines back 'home'.. I had bought the pointless but necessary flight for the border nazis from Kingston to London via Miami, just in case I was refused entry I could get off in Miami instead of being deported straight to London non stop.. The reason for my worry of not being allowed in was due to my last flight into montego bay where the officer told me a couple of lies and was told not to come back for six months.. Well it was less the two months since leaving JA.

This time I filled out the form asking for a six month stay whilst ticking the box that I'd be visiting friends or family, I think this worked better than stating I was on a vacation for 6 months, the only real question i was asked was why i'd flown through kingston this time as opposed to my normal entry point of MoBay.. I wasn't gonna tell him what I thought of the officers up there and replied it would be easier this end.. He was ok with that and stamped me in for six months after a quick chat with a supervisor, which might normally have thrown a spanner in the works but today luck was on my side.. I'd got out the plane first and beat the other two planeloads of passengers to the empty immigration hall which ment that after a couple of minutes there was a huge long and growing line of passports to process and the supervisor was also busy taking care of an unruly and rude old grandad which definatley helped my cause..

To my delight my bag and much cellophane-wrapped skateboard came out on the belt first and I was out of the airport to be greeted by the open arms of my girlfriend and started our journey back up to the north coast.

..so i've been here a month and i was planning to stay here for a while but i'm looking on getting away again.. maybe more central america, looking at the guianas, colombia even japan or australia.. i feel the need to get my backpack on and move just like when i was doing the 12 hour work shifts whilst in london, this time though i might try and travel as a couple..

..Below are two pics of my much loved backpack.. it is so nearly perfect now.. if only i had bought a 30 litre bag first time round.. anyway, when you compare the two photos you can see quite a big difference.. i cut off all the lose ends and accessories to make it neater and lighter.. the part of the zip that your fingers hold on to have gone to deter theft, the side pockets have gone to prevent anything unwanted going in them, a lot of the straps have been cut short to stop them tangling or caught on things.. also the hip support was cut off because i never ever used it, the pack is small enough to keep itself light enough not to need it, along with the crappy sternum strap.. and that elastic cord was also never used so that went too..
