Today is Christmas but also today I have reached the ripe old age of 27, matching and hopefully beating Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain.. I remember when I was a little kid my mum telling me at this age a man is at his peak and is a good time to get married and start a family.. i have been thinking more about it recently.

So a couple of days ago I went out with my girlfriend to the "welcome to jamrock" concert which is hosted yearly by Damian Marley and his mum, Cindy Breakespeare (the ex-miss world girl that became one of Bobs baby mothers).. They made a point in all the advertising that the show goes off on time.. and these guys mean it coz we turned up about 45 miutes later than the advertised 9.00pm showtime and missed the first act who was Etana and someone who I was wanting to see perform. We got there by chartering a cab and was let out across the road at the car park.

Here we were immediatly approached by touts and so I'm questioning the validilty of these budget looking wristbands which have no mention of the concerts name but just a VIP logo.. I decide against buying of the street and tell them I'll be going over to the ticket office, the guy tells me I can't coz he's already slapped the wristband onto my girlfriend.. I was gonna tell them that it's their own problem and that they should'nt go attaching them before they've received the money (which is probably their best tactic) but decided to give them ago as I didn't want to blame or embarrass my girlfriend any more for her naivety..

The show was heavy, my girl secured a front row position, i stood a couple of steps back to let the teeny boppers in to enjoy themselves at the front whilst I could whine and grind my g/f when the right tune came, and to be able to get a good place to myself to dance and most importantly get a great direct easy route to the free beer stand.. Damn, free beer.. I really took advantage of this, at first it was advertised as free till 10.30pm only.. So there was me at 10.29 getting two beers and forcing my girl to take one extra for me aswell. I sunk them and headed back to get more, when I was counting my money the "kingston beer showgirl" told me it was free all night!!

So the show had got going with Tarrus Riley.. Bounty Killer was there mouthing off about Beenie man.. Collie buds sung "finally the erbs come around" and then there was a surprise appearence by Mavado, Busy Signal and Elephant man which turned the heat up to 11.. And by this time I was trashed but kept on dancing pretty skillfully (ahem?).. Damian Marley and his "Ragamuffin" brother Stephen belted out their classics and before you knew it the show came to a stop on time at two in the morning, at the time I was moaning that it was too early but by the time I reached back to the hotel it was lucky it finished then or I may have wound up with alcohol poisoning.

So back to this christmas, it is the first time in over ten years that I had a sober Christmas eve.. The reason being by midday I had a harsh sorethroat and by evening my nose was blocked and running simultanously. So last night and all of today I've been making use of my new ipod touch and the free wifi that I've found here at the hotel to browse tons of pages and update this blog.. So next is new years, and I plan to abuse some alcohol.
