Where I stayed
scotia guesthouse

I stayed in the cheapest place available in all of jamaica, it's called the scotia guesthouse and cost 600 jamaican dollars, the rate was welcome after staying in expensive kingston for 10 days. The onlt let down was that the electricity hadn't been reconnected yet in the port antonio area so the was no nightlife and i drank a lot of warm beer.

the town has an old grand town feel to it, the buildings up in titchfield where i was staying were large mansions that haven't had any money spent on the upkeep for the last 60 years and the streets are crumbling away. I stayed only 2 nights because we heard a rumour that ocho rios had had their electricty back on so left a lot earlier than i woulf have liked but if the place hasn't change in a long time i'm sure it will be the same when i return.

I took a day trip down to the blue lagoon which has a strange mix of sea water and fresh water, after you've jumped in of the helipad you swim around a get small shocks as you move through the warm salt water into the cold currents of the fresh water spring. i mooved on down the coast to the nearby beach and got a nice plate of cook up chicken, the place had shitload of sand flies so i couldn't enjoy the food properly and had to retreat back to town because of of it.
