I found a nice welcome back from "Japenese", "junior", "pretty" and crystal who worked at the linkage guesthouse in Mobay.. Over the next couple of days i found the time to 'socialise' with ivan (who wasn't ment to still be in mobay but had now become the boyfriend of crystal) drinking on the balcony, at pier 1 and the pub across the road.

The last time i was here i bought the camera of Dave yet, so went around to snap a few sights which took all of 3 minutes. Ivan left a couple of days ago and we're ment to rejoin in Kingston for some trekking later this week. I've always found with solo traveling you're never alone, so later that evening another backpacker turned up fresh from a stint in central america... he needed to go to the atm so i volunteered to show him the wasy down downtown, whilst i was waiting outside the booth some smelly, sweaty and loud ragamuffin tramp thing, who'd had some how stiched red string into his fore head for eyebrows, came up to me asking me to give him some money for soup. I thought i brushed him off quite easily and forgot about him immediatley.. until Jeff came back out of the booth the tramp came steaming back in hassling the f**k out of us. Jeff is well travelled and i'm pretty used to all the caribbean hustles that can be thrown at me we managed to walk away from this crazy beggar, but it must have been a pretty strong "welcome to jamaica" for him.

I left mobay yesterday in search of pastures new, i found myself in a small and charming but busy seeside town called St. Anns bay. My LP listed one guesthouse there, i tried to bell it before i left but the number was out of use. so what i was expecting came true and the hotel wasm't open anymore, infact if the building is what i thought it was it looked like it was ready to collapse. I went to plan B and headed a further 20 minutes east along the coast to ochi. I walked around town looking for some guesthouse near the beach but somehow couldn't find these either. i turn direction and headed inland and uphill in search of the some g'h as a last resort because the light was fading. The girl working at the guesthouse gave me a good discount on the room and a settled into the night lazing on my bed watching cable TV and eating a burger king.

This morning i phoned my credit card to see why they stopped it again and thought it would be the routine phone call of "yes, I am in Jamaica" but instear they were reading off a list of purcheses in the united states that occured just 5 days ago. One was of 650usd$ in Toys'r'us and another $400usd at wal mart. At the beginning of my trip i started with 3 atm cards of different banks.. one i lost in Grenada, another expired last month and now my last one i was surving on had been cloned and now stopped leaving me without any access to cash whilst travelling. My bro is going to western union me some wedge to tie me over till saturday which is when i have the flight which the immigration officer forced me buy when entering the country. Maybe the girl that gave me a hard time entering the country could see into the future and knew i wouldn't be heading to cuba or completing my dream to circumnavigate the globe but going home after all..

Lastly congratulations to my friend alice on the birth of your baby girl
