My plans to set out early were scuttled by a night of Presidente, i managed to head out from sosua to cross the country at midday. The well used phrase of 'it's not the destination, it's the getting there' came in to effect today, it took 5 legs to get there and met and chatted to the driver or fellow passengers on all of them. My 1st leg cost 40 pesos and was a minivan heading east along the coast from sosua to Rio san juan, well the driver decided to change his mind a couple of towns before RSJ and we were all placed into a publico car. This cost an extra 30 pesos, the car was extremely full, the front row and 4 people sitting there, two in the passenger well and the driver plus sexy girl passenger (ofcourse) sharing his seat and pedal space. the back seats had me, a guy, a petite woman and her three young kids. The driver dropped us at the ongoing bus stop for anyone who was still heading east. This RSJ to Nagua leg cost 70 pesos and wasn't so overcrowded at first, but the driver kept on picking up more and more passengers untill their were people holding onto the outside.

I was once again dropped off at the ongoing bus stop, and by now it was just after 2pm, the bus stop was at a roadside cafe which gained all of it's business from waiting passengers. I must had just missed the bus to take me to sanchez as i was the only one there.. the next one didn't turn up until about 5pm and by then the cafe was looking pretty busy, all our bags was tied to the roof and i managed to get my skinny little bum into a tiny gap, this leg cost 50 pesos.

Just after the town of Sanchez is the turn off for my final destination of Las terranas, This is a beautiful ride that passes over the mountainous samana peninsular which cost 40 pesos and was in the back of a pick up. When i climbed in i put my bag on top of the spare wheel and got comfortable for the ride. Half way to Las terranas the dodgy looking kid got off and grabbed my bag, i immediately snatched it off of him and was glad i was paying attention, it was only after i realised that i'd dumped my bag on top of some car motor thing of his, and he was just getting his stuff that i rudely covered up.

After arriving in las terranas, i checked the bible and found my bed for 550 pesos a night, that evening i found some stella and sat on the picturesque beach.
