i wanted to spend a few days in anguilla, i would of but the only cheap $20 dollar option the casa nadine guest house has only just a couple of months ago gone and had a refit and raised their prices to $45. so i only managed to take a brief visit there. I got the ferry over and whilst on it i was reading my lonely planet and i find out that anguilla doesnīt have any buses on the island and iīd only brought $60us out with me and after the fare there and back it left me with $26 dollars... the ferry terminal taxis want twelve dollars one way to take me to shoal bay east, which would leave me only $2 dollars of spending money on my day on the beach. So to get right across the island the only other option was to hitchhike which turned out to be the highlight of my day, it took about 6 rides to get to the beach, i did try to get a hummer3 to stop but the guy just laughed as he drove past. the way back was pretty cool aswell, this time a jamaican stopped in his rickety pick up and took me way further than he was going. when he dropped me off at the road before the ferry terminal i started walking the last 1 1/2 miles to the boat, but then a worker from the termninal stopped on his way to work and took me all the way in. All of them i met were pretty cool, and i wish them good karma for the future.

The day at the beach was ok, the beach itself is quite nearly picture perfect but there are too many tourists, sunbeds and umbrellas there to make it the pefect caribbean beach. It was about 4:30pm when i was dropped off to get the ferry back over to St. Maarten, there were about 10 people in the queue and the boat was due off at 4:30. So the rastafarian guy let all everyone on until i arrived at the booth to get my boarding pass,no one else had joined the queue since i arrived, i saw the girl there ignore me and change the sign over to the 5:00pm departure for the next one. When she bothered to look at me she just laughed and said iīm not getting on the boat which is still on the dock, f###king bitch.. she really put a downer on my impression on anguilla, i wanted to ask her why they didnīt let me on but let the 9 previous locals on, but i thought F-it.. it was blatently obvious the reason..
