i made it over to Grenada yesterday.. the customs guys were pretty moody.. the first guy asked all the usual questions like asking me how long i'm here for.. i say 2 weeks.. after a few more q's he asks me when i'm leaving again, i say in two weeks.. before i finish the sentance he snapped 'whats the date!' ..i done the challenging mental arithmatic of 4 + 14 = 18.. and reply the 18th.. he lets me through with a visa until the 18th.. i only plan to stay maybe a week or 10 days so hopefully the extra 4 days will cover me.. i was thinking of going for a month visa but maybe he would have started asking me for onward tickets and proof of funds.. anyway i pass to the the 'anything to declare' part and the guy asked me all the same questions.. i thought of telling him to go ask the 1st guy but i did'nt want to unpack and repack the whole of my backpack in revenge from him..

I got outside and was hounded by the taxi drivers.. i can't stand taxi drivers and have no trust for them. I asked how much it was to St.george and he says '50 eastern caribbean dollars' which is about 10 pound, in my lonely planet it says it should be between 25-30ec.. so i told him that, he replied that was before the fuel price went up, i asked him if i can get a bus into town he said (lied) No.. as we set off we immediatly passed everyone loading into the maxi taxis (buses) going into town.. When we reached my destination, i asked if the driver had a tenner change from my 3 twentys i was only able to give him.. he said (lied) yeah.. after searching through his wallet, he soon said no.. so as i thought the guy's overcharging me to start with he's not going to get a tip because he can't give me change.. i made him wait till i checked into my room and hot change from the guesthouse. then thanked him for the safe journey.. I dropped my bags, then headed into town as the daughter of the owner offered to show me the way into town, he name i think is antionette.. but she pronuoces it Anti-Net.. anyway she showed me along the carenage where the sail boat from travel channel fame "the picton castle" is docked and then up a very steep hill and down again into the main part of st. george.. we split ways and i took a small walking tour up, down and around the many calf busting hills i came across..

Today i was looking for a boneless chicken roti for breakfast.. i went into this roti shop and asked the lady.. "do you have boneless chicken rotis" she looked at me weird, so i repeated and then she came out with "i don't understand a word you're saying!".. i say "do you sell roti's?"... "yes" "ok, do you sell them with chicken in them?"... "yes" then i stupidly said.. "ok, do you put bones in them?"... err?? luckily she didn't understand my strange last request so quickly explained to her i don't like rotis with bones in them.. She said they all have bones in them.. never mind..

Toady i'm grateful for (plagiraised from whereshegoes) : My ear plugs

last night there was a f**king annoying dog barking for at least 10minutes continuosly then took a break for two minutes then carried on for 10mins and so on.. i was so close in finding out which idiot of a dog it was and then purchasing a gun, i'd probably (and ironically) need a silencer on it not to alert too many people in the neighbourhood so i could getaway without gun charges.. and have a good nights sleep.. i noticed a lot of roosters aswell yesterday evening right outside the entrance to the rooms.. so my ear plugs must have done well as i woke up at half nine this morning without hearing a thing..
