The kids survived a night without window shades, but everyone woke up a bit early. Yes, sleep dominates our thought processes :)

Later that day, while looking for something to truly solve the window situation I noticed exactly what I was looking for. The solution had a true elegance and wonderful irony to it (given Sue's job at Clorox): Trash Bags!!!!! Black heavy duty trash bags (I don't think they were Glad bags) were perfectly suited for the task. After using the few we had in the house, I made a trip to the hardware store and got some heavy duty black ones and some wide tape. That did the trick and we're now set for the rest of our journey, should we need either bags or window coverings!!

After completing a few tasks (buying a cell phone, booking our flight to Stockholm, visiting the System Bolaget) we drove to my cousin Sophia's apartment for her 2nd daughter's (Ella) 3rd birthday party. What fun! Sophia and Nadav live in a 4 room apartment with their 3 daughters Maya (8), Ella (3), and Millie (10 months). Nadav is from Israel and they met while traveling in India. Sophia runs a catering company and so needless to say the food was delicious and the cake was amazing!!! And what a lot of toys they have!! There were several other kids at the party and we had a nice time. Per (my uncle) was there with his little doggie Pixie. What a nice time.

Now, you may have noticed that we booked a flight to Stockholm today. Why? Because we need to sign our re-finance paperwork in front of a US Notary and the only one in Sweden is at the US embassy in Stockholm. And they are conveniently open from 9-11am. So, we are off to Stockholm for the day. We'll do anything for a 5.375 30 year fixed interest rate. Yikes!!
