After another nice night sleep (we woke up around 10) we indulged in another free hotel breakfast (including the time honor tradition of making some sandwiches for lunch!) and packed up to move to our home for the next 2 weeks, a nice apartment near Redbergsplatsen.

We took the ferry to the last stop right by the Opera House in central Goteborg. This is a very maritime place as ferries to Denmark, Germany and other parts of Scandinavia are constantly coming and going through the port and under the bridge that looks like a green Golden Gate Bridge.

We arrived at our apartment after a nice time traveling across town. Since it was at the top of a small hill I hoped it might have a view, little could I have guessed that we'd have the top floor with a commanding view over all of Goteborg!

And views are certainly the name of this apartment as there are NO window covering of any kinds! Now, this might not be a problem except for the fact that the sun doesn't go down until 10pm and comes up about 4am! And Tyler simply won't sleep if it isn't at least partially dark. Yikes! We covered the windows with bed covers and made do for the first night. Read tomorrow's entry for the more elegant solution....

We settled in to our new place, had a lovely dinner and explored the neighborhood. The kids went to bed early-ish and Sue and I took the opportunity to go for a long walk. We left our apartment and walked all the way to "the Avenue" Goteborg's version of the Champs Elysees. Cafe's everywhere were full at 10 on a Sunday. No recession when it comes to drinking in Sweden. It was really nice to get out for a long walk with my honey.
