The first few days in Europe are always an adjustment period and it is even more so when traveling with kids. We spent a pleasant morning the Novotel which is well set up for kids. They have 2 playrooms filled with toys and kids are everywhere. After a leisurely brunch, European style with bread, cheese, ham, yoghurt, Swedish cinnamon rolls, strong coffee, etc. we set out exploring.
We took the ferry which leaves from right in front of our hotel down the river to the center of town. We strolled to Haga, the old part of town and picked up some lunch. We returned to our hotel for an in-room picnic of open faced sandwiches.
After Tyler's nap, we took the Sporvang (street car) back to Haga had an early dinner at the vegetarian restaurant where my Aunt Bisse works. She set us up with a deliscious dinner at the outdoor picnic tables. Yum!! My cousin Fredrick and his wife (Camilla) and their 18 month old (Elin) dropped by as they live just around the corner. It was nice to see some relatives, which is our main reason for visiting Sweden.
We didn't stay late and got the kids home and in bed around 9 and everyone slept well all night. Maybe we'll be adjusted soon.
