Getting to Luton airport is not necessary a major issue for most people - of course it had to be for silly old me.
I left on time and arranged to meet Toni @ Moorgate so we could catch the (fast) Bedford train from there. Well, I ended up arriving to King's Cross a little too late and decided to meet Toni on the way, so hopped on the train coming from the directions of Moorgate (ignoring the rather confusing sign at the front of the train, indicating that it was actually heading towards Moorgate). Despite a few discussions with Toni over the phone, I managed to get on an early train so Toni was nowhere to be found.
No wasting time though, as I started chatting to 2 American girls heading to A'dam on the same flight as us. It could have been the beginning of a new friendship if Toni and I had not decided to finally reunite. This meant getting off my lovely train at St Albans. What a mistake!
After a few minutes of waiting around, the train stopped by the platform and I got on. Great!- I thought. No no no...it could not be that easy as I was there. I decided to enquire from a random passenger whether that particular train was in fact heading towards Luton Airport Parkway. The answer was somewhere along the line of a no, so I decided to escape before it was too late.
Well, as you expected it, the train was going to the airport and Toni WAS sitting on that train. Never mind - plenty more fish in the sea.
To cut a long story short, Toni and I were happily reunited at Luton Airport Parkway train station and finally managed to make our way towards our long-desired destination, the city of Amsterdam (without my lovely American friends of course).
