We were keen to make the most of our new Saturday-Sunday weekends, and set out to do so feverishly in August. In addition to our usual island getaways, we were out and about quite a lot in August, September, and October.

We got back from Portugal on Tuesday night, started our orientation at the new job on Wednesday, and were at Macka Park in central Istanbul on Saturday night for a fabulous Feist concert -- like I said, we weren't wasting any time.

That was just the first in a series of concerts we'd attend over the next month:
  • Feist was on August 25th and was a lovely show with a small crowd so we were able to really appreciate it.
  • On September 8th we saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers while in the midst of an obscenely large crowd of 30,000+ at a terribly suited venue -- great show though!
  • On a very unseasonable Friday, September 28th, we took a ferry to a venue on the Bosphorus to see an amazing show by Beirut. It was a magical night and well worth trekking out in what we thought was going to be a chilly, rainy night.
Konrad's soccer crew also organized a game against a traveling British team, which myself and a bunch of "WAG"s watched from the rickety stands at the football pitch.
No doubt there were a host of other thrilling things that we got up to over those months, but the concerts and the football match were the top of the pops, so get their mention here.
