Our ferry was set to depart at 9:00am, so we were up early, packs on our backs, trekking over to the jetty to make the return trip across the Aegean and back to Turkey. I took advantage of the Greek duty free and grabbed myself some Absolut and Konrad some Johnny Walker before hopping on the boat and settling in on the top deck. The weather was perfect, yet again, making the hour and a half ferry ride back to Ayvalik wonderfully peaceful and relaxing -- and before we knew it, we were once again disembarking on Turkish soil.
Unfortunately, the ferry was mainly full of day trippers from Greece, who all were part of a tour and were sent to the front of the Immigration line. That left about a dozen of us at the back, and we had to wait for all of them before we could get stamped through -- which took a long time: we didn't get through the line until almost 11:30, putting a crimp into our plans for the day.
