One thing I failed to mention was that as we were walking into Myanmar, I tripped, and the weight of my pack sent me toppling, landing on all fours... cutting up my knees -- I know, how usual for me, huh?
Anyhow, I wanted to mention it b/c last night I had another mishap. We arrived in Phitsanlouk and found a hotel. Around 7:00, we decided to search for internet (which I found today -- only 10B and hour! That's about 25 cents!). As we were walking down the steps, I slipped and skidded down almost an entire flight. When I finally stopped, I felt my spine crunch and couldn't breathe - serious pain. The hotel staff was great, and once I decided to go to the hospital, they drove me across the street to a doctor, who gave me some muscle relaxers and pain killers (seemed to be a problem of muscle spasms). My visit and drugs only cost 100 B ($2.50) and lasted about 20 mins -- love the healthcare system here. Anyhow, the drugs definitely helped, and I'm much better today (still a bit sore though). But could I stay on my feet for a bit from now on?
Happy holidays to you all -- enjoy yourselves and carve a piece of Tofurkey for us!
