We decided to trek to Alexander bay today. Fortunately the
20 minute bush walk was in the shade! However as soon as we got to the beach a
swim was required . LOL.
Actually rewind a little ,back onto the track. We were
nearly at the beach,and I heard it. It’s a unique sound of v12 rolls royce or merlin engine from the
second world war!! Damn we were in the trees,and only had 5 to 10 % of the sky
showing. With fingers xed I held my breath for a glimpse of the machine.
Dam lucky not to have missed it, also dam unlucky not to
have caught it on the beach as well!! We didn’t have to wait long for the beast
,not sure if it was a spitfire(but certain it wasn’t a Jerry) ,to fly quickly
into view ,then to disappear for the
duration of the day. Made me jump up every time I heard a plane though as
desperately wanted to get a pic of that beast!! LOL, very nervy I was , all day!!
Oh yes the swim,. Well the water has cooled a little from
the near cyclone that passed through here only a few days ago! But being the
brave peeps we are managed to brave the cooler conditions.
Being a remote beach, we were surprised at just how many
people were there as well as dragon boat racing going on off shore as well. We
had frequent fly over’s by the rescue helicopter, and what I call a spotter
plane. IDK what he was doing , may be patrolling the shore line for immigrants!
Imagine our surprise when we met Jeremy Clarkson there, in a rock crawling
beach buggy! We chatted for a bit and I asked him what he thought of the beach.
He replied: “As near as it makes no difference, this is the best beach IN THE
WORLD”!!
We laughed out loud then he had gone.
Which reminds me I forgot to tell you that Annemieke saw Paris
Hilton on the beach yesterday ,at Noosa!! She couldn’t believe her eyes and
said to Parris;” What do you think of Noosa?”
To which Parris replied :”Its Hot”!!!!! Lol!!
Any how I hope you like today’s mystery car its quite unusual!
BTW I have front pics of the woody from yesterday if any one
needs them!
Annemieke says we are having a Bitchin time !!!
Having drinks with Bethany & Lee and cute Rueben (nearly
2) tonight
Hope you are all well, we will be off to see Aaron and Aimee
tomorrow. It will be our longest day!

Hey Neil I gues you and Annemieke won't be going to the NZ VW Nationals in Dunedin at Easter when you get back, you'll be recovering from all the action you've had in Ausie?
