As the hotel charges for internet are V.O.R. (verging on
ridiculous),we decided to investigate the coffee shops on the strip beside the
beach. So Starbucks offered $3 per hour, which is about all we need to blog, and
check emails. So went for that. Funny thing is the coffee shop next door was
twice as busy, upon close examination they are offering free internet with
coffee!! Still it’s been a while since I had a flat white for $3.50, so heads
up to Starbucks for that!!

On the way back to the car we went onto the beach and took
some pics, little did I know I was seconds from disaster! The rocks were
extremlry slippery as I was about to discover. Sorry no pics of that!

Next stop was a shopping mall,

Which  is about the
size of a small city!! Found some bargins, like a $5 dollar dress (for
Annemieke), and a $10 long sleeve shirt 4 me, really why would you buy one for
this climate is beyond me!! Got some average avocado’s ,  then noticed some NZ ones ,twice the size, so
had to get them as well!!

By the way the weather has deterioted  to  cloud,
showers with a hot wind, so not really beach weather, however managed to get a
few snaps of the local beach 4 you. While there spotted today’s  mystery cars as well.

We realized that we didn’t know much about the local
attractions so went to the Info centre and loaded up on brochures. Amongst  them was one for a local boat tour of the
canals and river. Fish feeding and Pelican feeding as well, as a discount
voucher, so we were off, to catch the 2.30 sailing.

Now this was no up market  tour in a bay liner, no way. It was an 50 year
old ex Brisbane ferry river boat! With a 50 hp diesel, capable of like 10
knots  per hour. Any  way it did a good job, and an excellent commentary
as well. However after seeing like a hundred
multimillion dollar homes, one felt quite poor actually. One of the more
interesting stories was about   Steve  Irwins
boat. Apparently  Croc one was the b oat he was on when he got
like killed by a stingray!! Apparently he purchased Croc One  for $1.5 million, but had no where to park
it! So he brought a $3.5 million dollar river front mansion, as some where to
park it!! The house hasn’t been lived in, like permanently, so probably just a
holiday home for his family now! However having met the guy ,you wouldn’t have
known he was loaded!

Oops !! I nearly forgot to tell you about spotto  kombi no7. Thing is it is parked up in a shop.
A 1966 VW Samba,23 window bus. In not too bad condition, with a soft top type
sun roof. The thing is I had heard these are now worth $100,000. Well this one
he would sell for $50,000!!! If you do the math, it is very difficult not to
buy the dam thing!!Any one want to go halves?? Check out the pics!

Well back at the hotel now and the weather has deteriorated
,to a storm. Roads are closed to the south and North of here looking dodgy
right now. A rescue chopper has been dispatched to help rescue peeps, like who
are trapped. Yes it’s raining heaps, but still 26 degrees.

Ooh BTW Krysta, there is an identical car twin here, pic is
taken from  our back door walk way, to
the lift. The leaves are from a 4 storey palm tree, lol!!

So will post any more dramas later ,as time to get dinner
now!!

Some of you will have noticed that there are floods in NSW,
the  neighbouring  state. Well the WWF (wet weather Forecast) is
grim, in fact nuffin short of a cyclone is expected, next 24 hours!
