Following a very windy night, we were pleasantly surprised to see a fine sunny day. It was good weather to break down the westy tent. We managed to pack everything up by 10.00,so had some spare time to enjoy the pool before we headed off.

On the way we managed to spot a train mural for Lincoln and a funny car one for Eleanor. Then we left Katikati Auckland bound. Travelling through the Karangahape Gorge was very scenic too on the way to Paeroa .Funny how we see more scenery in the Kombi!!

Lunch at Paeroa was good s we went to the cafe featured on T.V. recently. The decor and food has much improved on our last visit, March 2009.A good place for photo s. After lunch I went and took a photo of an American car in a workshop. Can any one guess what it is from the photo

The map led us gradually to Auckland, where were a mere orange speck on a very big motorway. We noticed a blue split window kombi on the way as well. Score 7 kombis to 1 Corvette!! I managed to pass 4 trucks which is a first!!Later some passed me back, but I pretended not to notice ! (lol)

Fortunately the motorway is very well sign posted and we didn't cross over the harbour bridge unintentionally. By 3.00 we managed to be all set up here, with the tent all set up for the duration!!

A quick trip to pak n save for more supplies , before dinner, steak on bbq with salad . Just realised that the mileage we have clocked up is 1200 miles. Thats around 2000 km so far!!
