Funny how things turn out some times.!!
Our day started out hot, fine ,cloudless, and hot again. After doing our chores and a good sleep in,we headed off the township of Katikati.
Trouble soon arrived before we left the camping ground as the bus wasn't wanting to start. We managed to crank her up in the end and decided to seek out an auto electrician in town. Luckily found one not to far away. But to far to walk back of course.
The prognosis is the starter solenoid is shagged! Leave it with me and we will get the parts and have it fixed today.Long storey short couldn’t get the parts in so making some other parts fit. Hmm. Its now ten to five ,and he is working furiously on the bits of the starter (thats shagged as well)still on the work bench. So we are hoping that we get our bed back for the night!!
Added complication is that the headlines on the local paper have a severe weather warning out for a down graded cyclone! Wont that be fun!!Need to shore up the tent or take it down. Peeps been ringing the information centre wanting sand bags, so since were by a river .......:-( ??? watch this space ........
Any how needless to say we had time on our hands to explore the town. Luckily its not to far from the work shop. The good news is that there was plenty of time to do photographs!!
Oops its 5 pm now and the rain is starting!! Unfortunately the tent is open, and stuff outside like towels and chairs!! Dont panic as Im sure we will llive!! Luckily we didn’t wash our sheets today as suggested!!! Hope we can get back before the flooding! Kidding I hope!!So much for our endless summer of sun. Still a week and 2 days with no rain is not to bad for N.Z.
See next blog for the rest of the day
