Wake up in Newbury travelodge.  Have a coffee, and slowly move into the day, we are all exhausted, we are in no rush to get checked out, and are aiming for the 11 am check out. Mom and Dad are also beat.  We load our two little cars and with Cass in mom and dads car we head off to get some breakfast. Our first stop has mixed grill breaky for 9 pounds per person, so we decided to go into Sainsbury's for the 3 pound per person breakfst (which by the way was basically the same)  Bob and I stop for gas and hit the curb.  We get on the motor way and we notice our hubcap fall off. We stop on the soft shoulder of the motorway, Bob walks back to get the hubcap, he returns to the car and tells me we have a flat!!!...I really thought this vacation we would maybe get away with not having to change a tire!  Can you believe it?? Because it's a soft shoulder, every time you turn the jack, it sinks more into the ground. Bob tried lifting the car to help remove the flat, but it was too difficult. Finally the jack reached a large rock in the ground, and we were able to change the tire. The rest of the drive was eventless, thank goodness.

Funny, as I re-read what Bob has writen, he has totally forgoten to write about stopping at Warwick Castle. Warwick Castle is one of the finest medieval castle I have ever seen.  Parts of the castle have been set up with wax figures done by madame tousaudes. The figures look so real Becky reluctantly  tried to touch one, afraid he was going to shout boo at her.  The figures are amazing they really really look real, with totaly legit expressions on their faces.  The horse area smells like horses and the blacksmiths area smell legit to,  Amazing.  Bob and the kids climbed the 565 steps to the top of the turret of the castle I chose to turn back after about 100.  This was the first day we had rain here but the sky did change and out came blue sky, Actors in costume set up the trebuchet with a fire balll and sent it flying though the sky. That was really neat to see.  We wish we had had more time to really explore Warrick, we'll have to go back again another day. Grannie, Granddad Bob, Cass Becky Brady and I were the last people to leave the castle and park. On to Stockport we go!!!

We decide to take the toll road motorway for a portion of the journey and are glad we made that choice, as our two cars seemed to be the only ones on the motor way. As it gets later into the evening we are absolutely famished, so we decided to stop for some fish and chips, which was well timed. After the late dinner, we finally land at Barbara and Phil's who are glad to see us as our arrival time was quite later than expected. After quick hello's, we head off to my Auntie Margaret's where we are staying for the next five days. Complete comfort, couches, kitchen, yard...aaaah, feels like home. With much love, the Koltzoo Crew.
