Well what to say??? We left early in the morning and took the train from Venice to Verona and then another train through the Alps and Austria in to Munich.  I (Jo) have always wanted to stay the night in Innsbruck in the Alps but we were rushed for time and since the Paris underground incident we have collectively decided we will not rush. So we did not stop in Innsbruck we headed for Munich. the Alps were beautiful! My photos won't do them justice since they are through two panes of train windows, both dirty!
Gigi enjoyed the ride quite well and it was very peaceful since all electronic things were dead !  Everyone got sucked into their books and the journey was lovely.

We arrived in Munich at about 4:30 p.m and headed directly for an internet cafe to find the e-mail Dad (Tony) had sent us earlier with the name and location of the hotel they were staying at in Munich.  Thinking that we might be able to connect with Mom and Dad for dinner before we were to get on the night train from Munich to Berlin.

We quickly found the hotel after some much needed rain and help with directions and map reading from Cass,

We were unsure if Mom and Dad were still staying in the same hotel but were delighted to find that they were, BUT they were out for the day!  We  left them a note saying sorry we missed them and we would see them in Poland and went to check to see if they were sitting in the internet cafe across the street.  No such luck.

I had not quite finished telling the disappointed crew that we would probably see them at the train station because they knew  our plan was to take the night train and what time we were leaving, when Brady spotted Granddad walking down the street towards us, Brady ran and almost knocked poor Granddad right over! Grannie was not far behind they were on their way to the internet cafe that we had just checked to check e-mail to see if we had left a time that we were arriving in Munich because they had been sitting at the station watching the trains coming in from Verona hoping to see us! We had arrived just moments before they had arrived back from their day out sightseeing in Ulm.
Amazing really it was not a comunicated thing between either of us just a hope we could locate
each other in this huge city half way arcross the world!

And we did!

Well we had a couple of hours and a cold beer and caught up with them, we certainly did not want to leave them to take the train but reluctantly we did, (knowing that we would see them in Poland the following day!

We were off through Germany through the night for our first night train experience.  The air conditioning was blasting  and it was the first time I was cold on this holiday as the temp has been a steady 34-38 degrees outside. Asha your blanket had been wonderful I think everyone has snuggled up in it to sleep with it at one time or another it;s a high demand item thats for sure!

Well we didn;t see Innsbruck and we didn't see Munich but we did get to see the people we wanted to see in Munich and that was fantastic!!!
Enjoy the photos  and hope everyone is doing well ! I love the one of Dad in his Tour De France hat with Gigi.

I was relieve they we OK and were having a fantastic trip and excited to get to Poland to see everyone else!!!

Tomorrow Berlin and Poland !
