So, as I said, the day began with pancakes and only went up from there... The ride was beautiful, the weather was fantastic - all the things that we've come to expect from the biking trip.

We arrived in a little town called Clifden - which was our lunch stop.

We had a coke at the first bar we could find, and were joined by a very annoying drunk Irish man - before noon on a Saturday...  He was nice enough, but we finally had to leave!  We went to a second hand bookstore and I bought 4 books by Enid Blyton (she writes children's books, but my mom got me a few when I was younger and so I decided to get a few more - I was feeling nostalgic).  Afterwards, we went to an internet cafe and spent 2 hours updating the blog.  We went to the station house for lunch before heading out at 4pm to ride to Letterfrack.

We got passed on the way to Letterfrack by another biker.  It turned out he was also German (in fact, I think we've seen more Germans than Irish here in Ireland) and we rode along with him for a while and chatted.  His name is Guenther and he's been traveling for 9 months.  We all ended up staying in the same place in Letterfrack (the Letterfrack Lodge) and made plans for dinner later.  Oliver and I decided to head to the Connemara National Park which turned out to be quite boring.

On the way to the park, we bought shampoo again since we left ours at the B&B in Cashel (and we had just bought that shampoo in Galway since we had forgotten to bring any to start with) - so we're losing shampoo quite regularly.  I would blame Nandita as she is generally in charge of such things, but she is quick to point out that I'm always the last one to have taken a shower - as if I use shampoo....

We had dinner and a few beers with Guenther and some very interesting conversation - it was a fun night - even though we had to go inside around 8:00 pm as the construction site across the street continued to make way too much noise.  Unheard of, they actually worked that late - in Germany we would have called the police on them....   :)
