We arrived at Ottawa, dummped our bags and went in search of food! i was craving proper food with some veg and taties.  We were directed to the food market area by Rhonda.  Excellent choice as once there we found the Tuckers Market place.  An all you can eat buffet $15 each.  At first we hesitated thinking it'll be rubbish, cold food that yo u don't know how long it's been stood for.  I don't have a wish for a dicky tummy, thank you!  However, it looked really busy, especially when we realised it was a Tuesday night.. Wow! if you're ever in ottawa, go here! excellent food, they even had a chef who made pasta dishes to your preference whilst you got something else on your plate to go with it.  the choices were too much and I only managed 3 courses, esentially some starter bits, a main then a selection of deserts (small bits I hasten to add), whereas Rob managed to do it a little more justice at 4 trips to the buffet.  After that feed, neither of us fancied the doing much, as we made our way back to the hostel we noticed that the cinema was showing the first of the new Harry Potter film at mid-night, so we got tickets, went to bed for an hour or so then got up and changed and went to see the film.  It was pretty good, but as ever it was nowhere near as good as the book!  I'm gagging for the 21st now, I need to read the last book!

The next day we, got up late (surprise) and determined to get some sights in walked up to Parliament Building, just as we got there the heavens opened, so we took the hint and went to the Mall.  Here we had brunch, the richtree marketplace.  It's a chain or franchise, and I don't know what the other are like but do not go to this one!  it's pants!  I had to take my food back 'cos the chicken and potatoes were cold!  Even Rob didn't like his very much.

Next Rob got his beard trimmed, he was really nervous 'cos he was worried they'd do it wrong, it was fine.. you can all relax.  We then did a bit of food shopping (noodles and yoghurt).  Then we went for our tatoo's doing.  I've wanted a second one for ages and Rob's been promsing himself his first for years.  He asked me if t would hurt? "of course it bloody will!" maybe he was looking for a bit more reasurance, what do you think? hee hee, anyway he was a trouper and didn't even cry!  The tat's are brill, Rob's is so good I'm actually a little envious.  Have posted pict just after they were done.  Will post more when they've healed as they'll look better then.

We went back to the hostel and joined the tour of the jail that was our hostel.  no joke, it was originally a prision that eventually got closed down in something like 1972 for it's in-humain conditions.  The hostel took over and have remodled / renovated some of it, but they've kept bits of it original and run the tours.  It was interesting with it's share of ghost stories an history.  After we ate our noodles and yoghurt.  Kim , one of the receptionists came down and laughed saying it was like student food.  She's right, I remember eating stuff like this when I was at college.  Then went to bed.

Our final morning and we made the effort to get up early and pack so that we could check out in time to join the free city whistle-stop tour at 9:30am.  This was lead by Liesa, from Germany, who was really nice and it was just us three that morning so we had a really good tour which ended back in the food market where she made us eat beaverstail.  fear not! it's a pastry that you can have sweet or savoury. Mmmmmm.

Then back to the bus and onto Toronto...
