Two days of rest and Driving on the "Right" side

Both Monday and Tuesday were spent primarily hanging out at Mark's flat. I am fighting a chest cold, so enjoyed sleeping in both days and generally being a slouch all day long. I did some trouble shooting of my laptop, caught up on some administrative stuff, chatted online with friends and family, and pretty much watched the entire two series of Little Britton on DVD. What a slug...in London on the computer and watching tv! I did read part of a London travel guide to get some ideas for Wednesday, and also read the "Highway Code" book since Tuesday night was driving lesson night. Mark is flying to Turin, Italy for 4 days while I am here, and has generously offered to let me take his Beamer all over the UK while he is gone. Trusting Chap! So, today I read the rules of the road and when Mark came home from work, we had a quick bite to eat and then went out for my lessons. A few trips around the neighborhood and then right out into the many, huge, mulitlane, confusing roundabouts. I did quite a few of these on the busier, more congested streets and then right out on the Motorway. Drove to the grocery store and spent some time shopping so that I could do it all again.....this time in the dark. As I said....Trusting Chap!!!! The roads are incredibly narrow here. It is very common to have to pull over to allow an oncoming car to pass, and unless you are on a major route or motorway, you are always flying down a road that at best is so narrow two cars can barely pass. It seems as if London drivers drive faster than we do in New England, despite the narrow streets; however, are extremely courteous. They have figured out how to navigate these incredible streets.
