It has been several days since we posted. We left Hildago, TX on Monday the 19th. We drove the first night to Ciudad Victoria. We went into Victoria and walked around the town square, and had a Mexican family style dinner at the Best Western with a Mariachi band. We stayed in a nice park that night. On Tuesday we drove to Tampico, MX. There is a lot of gas and oil production and refineriers. We stayed the night at the Tampico Yacht club on the banks of a river close to the ocean ( not exactly what it sounds like). We crossed the Tropic of Cancer Tuesday morning and the weather is getting warmer and warmer. The scenery went from desert like to lush and green and more tropical. Today Wednesday the 21st we drove to Tuxpan, and the roads are getting smaller and smaller. One member of our group had a problem with his 5th wheel today. We leave in the AM about 8 and drive for a couple of hours, and then break. Then lunch about 11am for 45 minutes. We have been done driving about 2pm. We have had people make wrong turns and temporarily lost, but they get right back with the "wagontrain" shortly. We have Police escorts sometimes, and "Green Angels" accompanying us. Green Angels are mechanics/ directors of traffic. Tomorrow we are on to Nautla and our first ruins. We are at an internet bar tonight as we are walking around Tuxpan. All is well, ane we will write as soon as we can.
