Honduran law requires that we, being foreigners. leave the country for 72 hours every 90 days to a country that is not part of the Central American Union. I've been here for 6 months now and our first 90 day anniversary documentation was taken care of by a simple bribe to Honduran officials. This time we've opted to leave the country and go to Cancun and disrupt Kirstin's dads long awaited honeymoon.
We've, once again, chosen to travel by a litany of local means providing more adventure and saving more money. Our travel days, thus far, have been highlighted by chicken baskets, holding baby parrots, crossing river by boat, staying in a beach cabana, stomach upset, and hiking with backpacks, through beach strewn with tanning vacationers.
We've now made our way to Cancun and into our resort and are not enjoying days of sailing snorkeling, touring Mayan ruins, and that all popular pastime, poolside lounging. The weather here has been predominately sunny and warm with the occasional hurricane.
Hurricane Richard, Ricardo to the locals, the eye passed within 30 miles of our home island of Utila and made it's way into Belize shortly after our arrival. Ricardo brought with him winds that twist palm leaves, rains that soak everything and angry waves to erode the beaches. It was, for us, a brief, but exciting weather event.
Our vacation consists of one week of resort living and by the time we get back to Utila, one week of adventuresome travel. These two weeks of enjoying ourselves before we get back to Utila and continue building our house have been a welcome break in our daily schedule.

Amazing time....
Evelyn and I were just in Cancun, stayed in the hotel zone and had dinner at Poncho and Willie's, released turtles as well! Isn't the water just beautiful!
Also went to Isla Mujeres and found a hangout called Zama with a restaurant and three pools right on the beach. Lots of Cororna buckets! ?Stayed there all day. Rember us from Belize?
...and to think I passed this up!!!! What was I thinking???
Enjoyed your pictures.
