What I did
UT Campus

I took a walk around my new place of learning, the UT Campus, like everything in Texas its big. The campus is it own town.

  • It takes 25 mins to walk from one side of campus to the other
  • It has its own shuttle services that run constantly around campus during the day and into the night.
  • A football stadium on campus that holds 100,000 people for the local team the 'Texas Longhorns"
  • 11 Libraries
  • Its own police service
  • 50,000+ students
  • The Gymnasium containts two lap pools and a leisure pool

I cant justify the size of the football stadium (Darrell K Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium) so i will upload some photos from my first Longhorns game next week, but the stadium has a 100k capacity and is sold out each and every home game. The stadium is dedicated to those service men of the United States.

The College football Team is the heart of Austin. Walking down a main street in Austin every second person has some sort of Texas Longhorn apparell on, it is a burnt orange colour with the shape of a longhorn in white.

There is a 2 level store dedicate to Longhorn apparell and merchandise. The photos above are of the mens level.

The following day i had an international orientation. Out of the thousand odd international students most are from China and other Asian countries. There around 30 - 40 Australias all up, 3 people from Africa and 1 person from Iraq, so there is a diverse range of international students from all over the world studying here at UT.

Here are some other shots from around campus
