We set sail early in the morning (though due to a very hungover “Captain” we left nearly two hours later than we were supposed to) and sailed to another picturesque bay where the ruins of Simeon Castle lay. The village was set into the side of the hill where tiny bungalow cottages nestled into the rock and the castle ruins stood proudly above them. We explored the tombs and ruins before returning to the boat to set sail once more.

It was then, sailing through the open waters on the Mediterranean Sea, with the wind and sun in my face, that I had a moment of pride and satisfaction in making this trip happen. What a feeling. We stopped in virtually open water for a quick swim at this time, and OH MY GOD, was the water freezing! Like submerging yourself in a bucket of ice! But the water was so beautifully blue, so blue and crystal, crystal clear, it was worth it!

We docked again at a town called “Kas” where we explored the little shops, ate ice creams and shared a bottle of wine with our newfound favourite Aussies! I was going to try paragliding, but unfortunately the wind gods were against us! We continued forth on the boat to another secluded bay. It was a particularly blustery night and after dinner and a few drinks, it was difficult to walk around the rocking boat! As everyone decided it was time for bed, I grabbed a huge blanket and lay out on the open deck watching the stars above. I fell asleep, and woke up freezing half to death and made my way down to the cabin to bed.
