Took the night train from Amsterdam to Copenhagen. What fun! I met a fellow American and a Canadian right away. We had a few beers and goofed off. My sleeper cabin was nice, six beds - all full. In the morning I got to know my bunk mates. All from different countries - France, England, Netherlands, America. The French girl, Lori, had a ferret onboard. I thought something smelled funny!! She was a cute little marmot though - an albino. I gave her some love.

The view from the train was stunning. Lakes or seas I'm not sure but they were beautiful. Actually at times it reminded me of up north Michigan.

Once we arrived at the station I found my new Canadian friend Leo and we walked to our hostel. The hostel was amazing!!! Huge, clean, had a bar and lounge and DJs!

Cleaned up and headed out to Rosenborg Castle. Holy bling batman! The crowns and jewels were amazing. Of course being that I'm in Scandinavia, I would have had to pay extra to take pictures. I opted to trust my memory.

After that Leo and I walked to Christiania. This place was incredible. It was like a bunch of hippies looking for Amsterdam to a wrong turn and decided to set up shop in a park here in Copenhagen. Vendors sold food, beer, weed, jewelry, and your typical hippy stuff. Lots of paintings on buildings, tents, dogs, live music of every genre and people just sitting in the grass smoking.

After that we had a wonderful pasta dinner and headed back to the hostel to clean up. We got lost of course and stuck in the rain but it was still pretty fun. I turned in early to shower and get to bed at a decent hour. On to Stockholm tomorrow.
