HOT! So hot and sweaty and nice. The last couple of days have had a nice breeze to them, which helps. I´ve been sitting on beaches, talking to fishermen and bartenders and eating pescado frito con arroz.
Yesterday I found a pathway along the cliffs on the north side of town. There were stairs built into the sides of boulders, which led me on a gorgeous thirty minute walk. I dodged waves and sent crabs scattering down the rocks. I reached the top of a cliff and looked down to find a beautiful cove with a beach down below.
The water here is so warm. The waves looked gentle so I ventured in and happily bounced with the waves... until I was flipped upside down and tossed about. I left the ocean quickly, all orifices full of sand and salt. I sat with my Corona and settled down to listen to my music.
Last night I met a surfer who told me all about peyote and Pink Floyd. He said that when you eat peyote, you clean your soul. But if you haven't come to terms with the bad parts of your life, you vomit your soul out of your body. He wanted to teach me to surf but I declined.
Today I lay on the beach again. Such a hard life. I was starting to get hungry when a nice girl came up and sold me a plate of mango. Paradise!
I can't stay here all day - I gotta go do some relaxing!

Life on the beach
I am so happy to hear that you are adjusting to life on vacation. I spoke with a German family today - man, woman, three young boys - who are going to travel to see Yosemite and the redwoods. It's not peyote and Pink Floyd, but it gave me hope for the world. Here in SF, Frank and I are babysitting our neighbor dog Woody. Kisa, the cat, is not amused, but otherwise Life is Good.
Keep having fun. - christine
