Where I stayed
Today we all went over to Animal Kingdom. We thought it was great. Sort of a Disneyfied version of the San Diego Zoo. It was very crowded. We rode Kali River Rapids, which we thought was too short of a ride (much shorter than the Grizzly River Run at Disney's California Adventure). However, the queue area was very well done. Of course we rode Expedition Everest, which had only opened earlier in the year. Wow was that a great ride! The kids loved it and so did we. We did the safari tour, dinosaur ride and walked around. Unfortunately, it started to pour, and I do mean POUR, like a hurricane. So the park pretty much shut down. So we didn't get to see nearly as much of the park as we would have liked. At one point we sat in this sort of patio area with lots of other people trying to escape the rain and enjoyed talking to this couple from Alabama. Eventually, though, we ended up leaving since the rides really weren't opening back up.
We headed over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We just hung out in the lobby for a bit and dried out. Did some mega shopping in the rather large gift shop. :) Then we already had reservations at Jiko, but were able to move them up a little to eat a little earlier. We had a great dinner. DH really loved the feel of the AK Lodge and wants to stay there next time we go to WDW.
