Had to get up at the unGodly hour of 5:45. Ugggghhh. Had our usual breakfast at the hotel and then got the car packed up, and checked out. Said goodbye to the breakfast lady...she was so nice. She gave us some peaches and orange juice for the road.

Dropped the kids off at mom and dad's by 7:15 or so, and DH and I were off to the airport. The drive went smoothly, and the traffic wasn't too bad. We parked our car in the Economy long term parking (only $7/day--and there is no other longterm parking except at the airport), took the shuttle to the terminal, and checked our bags by 9:30 or so. We had time to get DH the Wall Street Journal and some coffee to keep him occupied while I did some shopping. It's a small, lovely airport, so you can only do so much, but there is just enough to look around and keep *me* occupied. *grin*

Since we had to take Southwest, I insisted we go park ourselves in line. DH just didn't quite get this concept. And the bad thing was that we were in Group B. So I made sure we were first in line for that group, sitting on the floor. Despite the fact that there were about 20 preboard people and a full complement of Group A's, we got good seats. Like row 10 I think. Woot! (See, DH, parking your butt on the floor early on is a GOOD thing). :D

So we were off to the John Wayne Airport...
