Today, DH, the kids, and I take on the drive to go up to Northern (well, Central, really) California. We took our time getting out of the house. It's a drive I don't enjoy at all...been doing it since I moved away from home to go to college in San Diego, and omg it's a boring drive. Not sure how long it took...7 hrs or so I suppose.

We checked in at the brand new (a month old) Springhill Suites by Marriott. It's pretty nice, decorated with a modern scheme in greens and blues with a nice lobby and breakfast area downstairs (breakfast is included).

Our room had a king size bed and a pull out for the kids. There was a microwave, refrigerator and sink. The bed was comfy, and they have great pillows. :)

After check in, we went to what used to be Foster Farms (yes, same as the brand of chicken, but this was a fast food place), but it is now called Chicken Barn, lol. Cracks me up. But you can't beat the food. OMG, it's one of those hometown favorite kind of things, ya know? So we took a boatload of chicken, bisquits, potato wedges, cole slaw, and mashed potatoes to my parents' house and ate dinner. Can we all say YUMMM?!?

After a nice visit, and quick...we were tired, afterall...we headed back to the hotel and sacked out.
