We walked around Leicester Square, and it just so happened that it was the world premiere of the British movie, Hot Fuzz. So everyone was hanging out waiting at this theater for the stars to walk the red carpet. It was a bit crazy so we didn't stick around.
We ate dinner at L'Escargot, a nice French restaurant in the West End. Dinner was nice, it was part of a package we had (dinner first, then a show--Spamalot). I had a salad and risotto, which was good and light--just what I wanted. We then headed over to the show and got settled in. Our seats were in the first balcony on the left side of the stage, but overall quite good seats. The show was FANTASTIC! So, so funny. We were rolling. It was one of the best shows we have seen. I would highly recommend it. And I'm so glad we saw it in London. We got soaked by the pouring rain walking to the Tube station, but I guess that's England for you. Glad we bought an umbrella our first night here (since we forgot to pack ours!).

Love your blog!
I saw Spamalot at the Palace Theatre in Sept 07 and absolutely loved it!! I had the same feeling you did -- where else but London could you watch that!?
Keep the great adventures coming; you're a joy to read!
