Where I stayed
Rental Apartment
So much for getting up early. We didn't get up until 10:30 am...yikes. Although, the washing machine/dryer (it's one unit) kept us up until 1 am. So that didn't help.
We got going finally, and took the Metro to the Champs-Elysees. We did some shopping along the way. We were quite excited to get a couple of Fun Radio CDs. We listened to Fun Radio when we were driving around the south of France last November, and now we listen to it online. They play some really good, upbeat dance music. Now with the CDs we can download the songs to our iTouches. Woot!
Our main objective was to go back to Laduree...had to get some macarons to take home. Plus I needed (yes, NEEDED) to stock up on Violet Tea. I kind of got a few other things as well, like rose perfume with one of those little puffer things--oo la la--very French. :D Laduree is one of those indulgences I can't resist.
We then took Line 1 back to Le Marais to St. Paul. We did a little more shopping and then stopped in a cafe, Au Boquet St. Paul, for something to eat for lunch. I had a croque monsieur and the Girl had pizza. The server *forced* us to have dessert. The Girl had creme brulee and I had two (very tiny) scoops of Berthillon sorbet: pear and cassis flavors. The cassis had a very strong flavor, but good. The pear was absolutely devine. It tasted just like a ripe, juicy pear.
From there we headed back to the apartment; it was time to pack up and get organized. That was no fun at all...
