Well, I didn't have much time to think about this trip beforehand since I was doing my month-long TEFL course. It was too intense to think about anything but that. So I finished on Friday and had Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning to prepare and pack.
We got to LAX super early, so early that I had time to watch Valkyrie while we sat there. We boarded and got in our seats, way way in the back. There were only two rows behind us.
Can I just say here that I LOVE footrests. Go AirFrance: Thank you for having footrests! This is very important for short people. They also have killer entertainment, at least on the 777's anyway. I watched a couple of movies: Monsters vs. Aliens and Bride Wars. They really had a good selection of movies to choose from. The time went by really fast.
We had dinner which was way better than what American Airlines offers. I mean, hey, love those little bottles of wine. Dinner consisted of salmon with rice. Some people actually got to choose chicken thighs (which I would not have chosen anyway), but since we were the last row to be served, only salmon was left. The food was good and abundant. I suspect there was food in the galley behind us later on as well. Flying AirFrance is like being on a cruise--nonstop food.
Anyway, the Girl says she doesn't sleep on planes, so she started a movie. I took out my contacts and did the best I could to get comfy. I slept off and on. I think being thoroughly exhausted prior to this trip was a good thing. My body wasn't used to getting sleep anyway, so it was no big deal...
