DH went to the conference today. The kids and I walked all the way down La Rambla to the Maritime Museum; it was DS's choice for something to do. The museum was very cool. It cost 9.75 euros for the three of us (DS was free). Entrance included audio guides for DD and I (they said DS was too young at the age of 8...which seems ridiculous to me). I shared mine with him, and then ended up just giving it to him after awhile anyway. The building housing the boats and models is beautiful and REALLY old.

After touring the museum, we walked to the port, Rambla de Mar, just past the Monument a Colom (Christopher Colombus). We saw lots of boats and a ton of fish swimming around in the water. The kids thought that was really cool. It was a really pretty day, clear, sunny and cold.

We were hungry for lunch and looked for a place to eat as we walked towards our apartment along La Rambla. But nothing suited us. We got back to the apartment, I pulled out my keys, and we tried to open our door for 15 minutes. All three of us tried. Major frustration.

We decided to eat across the street at a place called Cafe Parisienne, although there was nothing Parisian about it. A man as old as the Pyrenees took our order, and his equally old wife delivered the food. DS had a "Frankfurt" otherwise known as a hot dog, but instead of a bun, it was on crusty bread. She brought him Ketchup, took off the flip top lid, where hidden underneath was the seal that should have been taken off, but instead a hole had been punctured in it to let the Ketchup flow freely. Things that make you go hmmmmm. He liked his hot dog though. Anyway, I had pretty decent pasta carbonara, and DD had lasagna. I'd like to know where they came up with the name of the cafe.

We walked back across to the apartment and DH was back thank goodness. He showed me the trick to make the stupid-ass key work. Then we all took a long nap. Then DH had to go back to the conference for some meetings. The kids and I finally dragged ourselves out of bed (dang jet lag). The three of us ate leftovers for dinner then went back to bed.
