Went up to the Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport, California, located near Mammoth Lakes, to do some scientific studies for the military (physiology). My favorite study was sharp shooting with the M16s. I did my own rounds (blank of course), and those Marines were impressed. :)
We slept in the barracks, did our work all day, and relaxed by hanging out at the base's tavern most evenings eating, drinking, playing pool and video tetris. My colleagues and I hung out together along with some of the guys from the study.
We went to one of the officer's house for dinner one night, and to the Carson Valley Lodge for dinner one night. We also went into town to the Bridgport Inn one night for drinks. Bridgeport is a quaint little town.
I drove my own car from San Diego, so I could just continue on to my family's house for a visit when we were done.
