The family and I took in a Dodgers game today as part of a CSUN Alumni event. We drove in to L.A. and got there a little early. Too early to even get in the gate. So, we drove around through Chinatown and into downtown Los Angeles to pass some time.

At around 5 pm we pulled over to the side of the road near the gate and waited with several other cars. Once the gate opened at 5:10 pm, we all lined up like little ants. It worked out quite well though.

We parked in Lot 1 and walked to the entrance. There was yet another line to get into the stadium. Only one person was checking bags! As a side note, they don't allow backpacks into the stadium or any bag over 14 inches (just FYI).

Just past the entrance was the Orange Terrace where the alums were having the pre-game reception. We got our wristbands, free towels and grabbed a table which had Cracker Jacks, Dodger Pez, blue beads and other paraphernalia on it for us.

We took turns getting our drinks at the drink counter and going down the food buffet line. We thoroughly enjoyed the Dodger Dogs! Then DS won a drawstring backpack in the raffle (woohoo!). He really wanted one of the signed baseballs. I wanted one of the roller carts for all my books and stuff when I teach, but no such luck.

DD and I went to the store to get our free t-shirts that say "I sat in Mannywood." They came in handy when it cooled down. The temperature was perfect when we got there, but it actually got a bit chilly later on. I had on four (thin) layers and was still cold.

We stayed until just after the start of the 7th inning. That was plenty of baseball for me--it's most definitely NOT my favorite sport. However, the event was a lot of fun.

That was my third professional baseball game. I have previously seen the San Diego Padres (when Rosanne Barr sang the National Anthem!), and the Angels.

Found out the Dodgers won 3-2 in the 10th inning.
